Job Summary

Join our customer's team as a Geospatial Analysis Specialist (QGIS) and play a pivotal role in leveraging advanced geospatial technologies to drive informed decision-making. You will deliver complex spatial analyses, develop customized QGIS solutions, and create impactful cartographic outputs in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, manage, and maintain spatial databases and ensure data integrity and accuracy across projects.
  2. Conduct advanced geoprocessing and spatial modeling using QGIS and integrate results into actionable insights.
  3. Develop, customize, and maintain QGIS plugins and extensions tailored to project specifications.
  4. Automate geospatial analysis workflows using Python (PyQGIS) to improve efficiency and reproducibility.
  5. Prepare high-quality cartographic maps and visualizations for reports, presentations, and decision support.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to understand requirements and transform them into geospatial solutions.
  7. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal form to internal and external stakeholders.



Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Expertise in QGIS, including spatial database management, geoprocessing, and map production.
  2. Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience automating tasks within QGIS (PyQGIS).
  3. Thorough understanding of spatial projections, coordinate systems, and data transformation.
  4. Proven ability to customize QGIS through plugin development or scripting.
  5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  6. Demonstrated ability to produce professional cartographic outputs tailored to various decision-making contexts.
  7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while managing multiple project priorities.



Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in remote or distributed teams supporting external customers.
  2. Familiarity with additional open-source GIS tools or cloud-based geospatial platforms.
  3. Background in spatial analysis within industries such as environmental science, urban planning, or resource management.
