Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Grocery Shopper Expert and play a pivotal role in advancing AI training within the grocery retail and wholesale sector. In this expert position, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of procurement and buying to ensure optimal product selection, supplier negotiations, and inventory levels, focusing on profitability and consumer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Select and procure grocery products for retail and wholesale resale, ensuring category coverage and market relevance.
2. Analyze current market trends, consumer demand, and competitor offerings to inform buying decisions.
3. Negotiate optimal terms and pricing with suppliers to maximize profitability and secure advantageous agreements.
4. Maintain and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent stock availability and high-quality standards.
5. Set and monitor inventory levels, addressing stockouts and overstock risks proactively.
6. Specialize in specific grocery categories, such as perishable or ambient goods, tailoring strategies to category requirements.
7. Provide detailed, clear written and verbal communication to inform cross-functional teams and support AI training initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in retail, wholesale, procurement, or grocery buying roles.
2. Advanced expertise in product selection, negotiation, and purchasing strategies.
3. Strong analytical skills to interpret market trends and consumer behaviors.
4. Demonstrated ability to foster supplier relationships and manage contracts.
