Description

Transcriptionists

Are you patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with highly structured records? We are looking for Transcriptionists (audio and/or written) to support high-quality AI training and data preparation projects. This role combines the opportunity to work with modern AI systems with the responsibility of producing clean, accurate digital data from challenging source materials—making it a strong fit for people who enjoy careful, methodical work. You will frequently work from handwritten or physical source documents—think historical ledgers, forms, hand-filled logs, registers, and administrative records—and transcribe them into structured digital formats. Candidates with legal or financial exposure are ideal, but we’re open to strong transcription and data-entry backgrounds. Candidates who have worked in government or institutional settings may be especially well-suited, as these environments often use manual, paper-heavy administrative systems and standardized recordkeeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate Transcription (Manual → Digital): Transcribe information from handwritten/printed pages (historical ledgers, forms, registers, hand-filled records) into structured digital formats with high accuracy.
  • Audio and Text Transcription: Produce clean transcripts from audio and/or written sources, following strict formatting rules and capturing key details consistently (names, dates, figures, identifiers).
  • Quality & Consistency Checks: Validate entries for internal consistency (totals, repeated identifiers, cross-page references), flag unclear items, and document edge cases using the provided guidelines and trackers.

Your Profile

  • Academic / professional background: No specific degree required; relevant experience in transcription, data entry, administrative records, or documentation-heavy roles is valued.
  • Transcription experience: Experience transcribing audio (interviews, calls, hearings) and/or written materials (forms, ledgers, registers).
  • Document comfort: Comfortable reading handwriting, stamps, scanned copies, and imperfect/aged documents; able to make careful judgment calls without guessing.
  • Detail-oriented: You consistently catch small discrepancies (names, dates, numbers, reference IDs, formatting) and can follow a strict validation routine.
  • Legal/financial familiarity (preferred): Exposure to terms and formats in legal or accounting documents (contracts, filings, invoices, vouchers, ledgers) is a plus.
  • English proficiency: minimum B2 English for understanding guidelines, producing consistent outputs, and writing short notes on edge cases.
  • Tools comfort: Confident using spreadsheets and web-based tools; fast and accurate typing; comfortable working with structured templates.
