About the Role
Mercor is hiring Emergency Medicine Physicians on behalf of a healthcare AI partner building advanced clinical decision-support systems focused on acute care diagnostics, triage, and high-acuity treatment pathways. In this in-person San Francisco role, you will apply frontline clinical expertise to review and validate emergency care data, directly shaping safe and reliable medical AI. This role bridges real-world emergency practice with applied AI, ensuring accurate representation of rapid decision-making, undifferentiated presentations, and critical edge cases.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Data Annotation

Review and label ED notes, triage data, imaging summaries, and case records.

Validate differential diagnoses, stabilization plans, and disposition decisions.
Quality Review & Model Evaluation

Audit datasets for clinical accuracy and guideline alignment (ACEP, ACLS, ATLS).

Review AI-generated summaries and treatment recommendations for safety and soundness.
Knowledge Contribution

Help define annotation standards for high-acuity and time-sensitive conditions.

Advise on edge cases (e.g., trauma, sepsis, stroke, cardiac arrest).
Requirements

MD or DO, board-certified/eligible in Emergency Medicine

Active U.S. medical license

5+ years of clinical experience preferred

Experience in high-acuity ED settings

Interest in medical AI or informatics preferred
