About the Role
Mercor is hiring Hematologists/Oncologists on behalf of a healthcare AI partner developing advanced clinical decision-support systems focused on cancer diagnostics, treatment planning, and complex hematologic disorders. In this in-person San Francisco role, you will apply subspecialty expertise to review and validate oncology and hematology data, directly shaping safe and reliable medical AI.
This role bridges real-world cancer care with applied AI, ensuring accurate representation of staging, biomarker-driven therapy, and high-risk clinical scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Data Annotation

Review and label oncology consult notes, pathology reports, molecular testing results, and treatment plans.

Validate staging, risk stratification, chemotherapy/immunotherapy regimens, and supportive care decisions.
Quality Review & Model Evaluation

Audit datasets for clinical accuracy and alignment with NCCN/ASH guidelines.

Review AI-generated summaries and treatment recommendations for safety and appropriateness.
Knowledge Contribution

Help define annotation standards for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.

Advise on edge cases (e.g., cytopenias, treatment complications, relapse/refractory disease).
Requirements

MD or DO, board-certified/eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology

Active U.S. medical license

5+ years of clinical experience preferred

Experience with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and molecular diagnostics
