About the Role

Mercor is hiring Psychiatrists on behalf of a healthcare AI partner building advanced clinical decision-support systems focused on behavioral health diagnostics, psychopharmacology, and longitudinal mental health care. In this in-person San Francisco role, you will apply clinical expertise to review and validate psychiatric data, directly shaping safe and reliable medical AI. This role bridges real-world psychiatric practice with applied AI, ensuring accurate representation of diagnostic reasoning, risk assessment, and complex behavioral health presentations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Data Annotation

• Review and label psychiatric evaluations, progress notes, and case data.

• Validate diagnoses, symptom clusters, medication regimens, and risk assessments.

Quality Review & Model Evaluation

• Audit datasets for clinical accuracy and alignment with DSM-5 and APA guidelines.

• Review AI-generated summaries and treatment recommendations for safety and appropriateness.

Knowledge Contribution

• Help define annotation standards for mood, psychotic, anxiety, trauma-related, and substance use disorders.

• Advise on edge cases (e.g., suicidality, comorbidities, treatment resistance).

Requirements

• MD or DO, board-certified/eligible in Psychiatry

• Active U.S. medical license

• 5+ years of clinical experience preferred

• Experience with psychopharmacology and risk assessment

• Interest in medical AI or informatics preferred
