Job Title: Energy Regulatory Attorney


Job Type: Contractor


Location: Remote (USA - East Coast candidates only)


Job Summary: As an Energy Regulatory Attorney, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide final legal review and sign-off on site control packages and interconnection compliance documents.
  2. Resolve escalated document disputes flagged by Tier 1 reviewers.
  3. Assess alignment of project filings with FERC regulations and PJM interconnection requirements.
  4. Review permitting submissions for utility-scale transmission and generation projects.
  5. Deliver structured legal opinions and findings in standardized formats for client delivery.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Active bar membership with current or recent practice in energy regulatory or infrastructure law.
  2. 8+ years of relevant legal experience.
  3. Direct experience with PJM Interconnection processes — site control requirements and interconnection queue compliance.
  4. Working knowledge of FERC regulations as they apply to transmission and generation interconnection.
  5. East Coast-based with East Coast-focused legal practice.
  6. Background at a law firm, utility, IPP, or federal energy regulator.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience as lead or senior counsel on PJM interconnection matters.
  2. Prior work with transmission developers, ISOs, or FERC directly.
  3. Familiarity with utility-scale solar, wind, or transmission permitting in the eastern US.
